PUBLIC LOSE MANY ARTICLES AT SHOW.
BUT SECRETARY HAS THEM ALL SAFE
There is one exhibit at the Winter Show that is not open to the public, yet it is one of the most interesting to be seen. Instead of being on publio exhibition, it reposes in a« drawer in the secretary’s office. This exhibit has an educational value, for it contains ail the articles that have been found by the attendants at the show and have not been claimed by their owners. Right on top of the drawer is a schoolbag, containing a full set of books. The owner’s name is inside, but the show authorities have not been able to locate him on account of tbe school holidays. Then there is to be seen a collection of odd gloves, half a dozen purses, mostly apparently belonging to children, for besides containing money they hold such articles as cigarette cards. There are also handbags and bangles. A new pair of gymnasium shoes is included in the collection. Evcrj wristlet watches are to be found in this drawer, the collection consisting of two silver ones. There is the usual assortment of boys school caps, half the schools of city being represented. There n&v*t been no inquiries for articles retained, though a large number of other articles have been claimed. One man who lost a £5 note wrs unfortunate in that it was not found, but another who lost a £1 note was more fortunate, for the money was found and handed to the secretary, who returned it to the owner.
