MAN MISSING AT HANMER.
SNOW HAMPERS WORK OF SEARCH PARTIES.
Since August 13 a man named R. Dynes has been missing from St James, near Hanmer. Search parties ha\*e been out looking for him, and they returned on Sunday to report no trace of the missing man. The party went out for a mile from the homestead in many directions but were prevented from doing any more owing to the heavy snow on the surrounding country.
The missing man was last seen on the track to the Ada out-station on Monday, but he apparently returned to St James homestead, as his hack and the packhorse he was leading were found each unsaddled and in a paddock. The search will be continued, but very little can be done until the snow is gone.
