At. a meeting of the committee of the North Canterbury Cog.} Merchants’ Association, held recently, the question of excessive motor taxation was discussed, and it was unanimously decided to ask the Government favourably to consider the question of abolishing the heavy traffic fees, particularly in view of the fact that motor spirit is being taxed to the extent of fourpence per gallon.
