MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A first offender for drunkenness was fined 20s and costs, in default twentyfour hours’ imprisonment. A statutory first offender was fined 20s and costs, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. REMANDED. A young man, for whom Mr Sargent appeared, was remanded until August 28, on a charge of obtaining the turn of £5 by false pretences. Bail was allowed in the sum of £SO, and one surety of £SO. An application for suppression of accused’s name was granted.
