PEACE PACT WILL BE SIGNED IN PARIS ON AUGUST 27.

THREE RECEPTIONS HAVE BEEN ARRANGED.

(United Press Assn.— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.)

PARIS, August 18. It is announced from Berlin that Dr Stresemann has definitely accepted the invitation to sign the pact for the renunciation of war.

Mr F. B. Kellogg arrives on August 24 and the ceremony of signing will take place on August 27. In connection with the signing three receptions have been arranged. One will be given at Rambouillet where the President, M. Doumergue, will receive the Foreign Ministers. Another will be given by M. Poincare and the third by M. Briand. Surprise has been caused by the unexpected summoning of the cabinet on August 23. ostensibly to finally iapprove of the details of the ceremony for signing the pact, but it is persistently reported that M. Poincare desires to reach an agreement on the attitude over the evacuation of the Rhineland in an inter-Allied debate, in case the issue is raised informally while the Foreign Ministers, are assembled. It is also suggested that Mr Kellogg will possibly raise the question of the Anglo-French naval agreement. It is noted that, although it is stressed from New York that Mr Kellogg does not intend formally to discuss international questions, nothing has been said about informal ' discussions. Mr Cosgrave is coming to meet Mr Kellogg and they will return together to Dublin.—Australian Press Association. Statesmen Sail. NEW YORK, August 18. Mr Mackenzie King, representing Canada, and Mr F. B. Kellogg, Secretary of State of the United States, sailed on Saturday for Paris to sign the anti-war treaty. Mr King will later proceed to Geneva to represent Canada on the Council of the League of Nations.—Australian Press Association—United Service.
