TO THE POLE.
Three Antarctic expeditions are projected during the coming summer season—those of Commander Byrd, Sir George Wilkins, and the British explorer, Douglas Jeffrey. Only Byrd has the South Pole as a definite objective. Wilkins plans to fly along the Antarctic coast-line from the Ross Sea to Graham Land; Byrd will fly from the Ross Sea to the Pole, and Jeffrey will attempt the greatest feat of all, a trans-Polar flight from one side of the continent to the other.
