WEDDING.
GERARD—SCOTT. Yesterday, at Ail Saints Church. Sumner, Margaret, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Scott, of Clifton, Sumner, ywas married to Richard Geoffrey, fourth son of Mr and Airs George Gerard, of Fendalton, and of Snowdon,” Ilororata. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers of pink and gold, and many guests were assembled for the wedding ceremony’ of the members of two well-known families. The Rev E. C. W. Powell officiated, and the organist was Mrs Hudson Brown. The bride’s gown was of softly gleaming white satin, very simply designed, the long-sleeved bodice sijghtly pouched over a wide inset band which defined the low waist, and fell to a point in front low on the skirt. The uneven hem lengthened in a graceful fold on one side, and the fashioning of the bodice was relieved by a strap panel caught to the shoulder with orange blossom, and again at the waistline. The veil was confined to the head with a circlet of orange blossom. The bridegroom’s sister. Aliss Denise Gerard, attended Miss Scott as maid, in a shot taffetas frock of gold and pink delicately blended. It was made with fitting liodice and full skirt, the hem, yoke and tiny sleeves being scalloped and outlined in transparent net. Narrow gold ribbons on her hair were caught with small posies of pink and gold flowers on each side, and the colouring was repeated in her bouquet of deep gold and pale pink blooms. The best man was Mr Bernard Savill. A reception was held afterwards at the residence of Mr and Mrs Scott. The hostess received her guests wearing a handsome model gown of black and bronze panne velvet, the skirt cut to fall in circular fashion at each side from a folded belt, and the bodice finished with narrow strap ties at the neck. Her becoming hat was of bronze velour felt With a black mount, and she carried a bouquet of gold and bronze freesias. Mrs George Gerard wore an attractive model gown of bronze accordionpleated georgette, with overskirt, and sleeves of lace in a paler shade. Her hat. of fine brown straw was finishedywith a brown - shaded posy* at one side. She wore a handsome black satin coat with a brown fur collar, and her flowers were wallflower shades of gold and brown. For travelling the bride wore a becoming little frock of tabac brown crepe de chine, lightly patterned in beige, and hemmed in the lighter shade. It was slightly draped at one side, and a delicately shaded posy finished the bodice. Her tucked coat of tabac brown repp, with the upstanding collar, was relieved with a feather flower harmonising with the frock. The beige silk felt hat was finished in the deeper sade.
