COUNCIL AGREES TO ERECT FENCES FOR BOULEVARD SCHEME.
According to a report presented at last night’s meeting of the City Council work in connection with the river boulevard is progressing satisfactorily. The grading of the roadway in front of Mr Robson’s estate is practically completed and the kerbing and channelling have been constructed. Mr Englebrecht, who dedicated the land on a ■wide frontage in connection with the scheme has asked that a wire fence be erected on the new boundary of his property similar to the fence erected | in front of Mr Cross’s pioperty. The estimated cost of the fence is £75 and the Works Committee recommended that authority for the expenditure be granted. The committee added that a similar request had been received from Mr Pannell, who owned the adjoining property, the estimated cost in tjpis case being £25, and authority for this expenditure was also requested. The report was adopted.
