TWO MEN INJURED IN MOTOR SMASH.
(Special to the “Star.") WELLINGTON, May 21. Serious injuries were received by two young men when the motor-cycle they were riding came into collision with a motor-car at Silverstream last night. The victims are C. H. Belcher, a clerk, and J. F. Redmond, a clerk. Both resided in Everton Terrace. Belcher was riding the motor-cycle towards the city, and Redmond was on the pillion behind. Belcher suffered a fracture of the right leg and his companion received a fracture of the right arm, while both are suffering somewhat from shock. Fortunately a doctor was passing at the time and gave them medical attention. Both the motor-cycle and the car were badly damaged. “They hit with a terrific smash,” said a spectator of the accident, “and the motor-cycle was jammed completely under the front of the car.” The injured men were taken by ambulance to the Wellington Hospital.
