SHE SPED UP FERRY ROAD AND LAUGHED AT THE INSPECTOR.
Gladys M’Kenzie, a school teacher, who did not appear in Court, was fined £4 and costs for travelling up Ferry Road in a motor-car above the speed limit. A traffic inspector gave evidence that defendant was travelling at between thirty-five and forty miles an hour. She was threading her way in and out of the traffic all the way. He put in a plan marked with zig-zags for some distance. Mr Mosley, S.M.: If it had been a man one would have been inclined to think other influences were at work. It is a pity defendant does not appear, because I think something should be done about her certificate. To the inspector: What did she say when you spoke to her? , The inspector: She just laughed and went on. Mr Mosley: £4 and costs.
