WILL THE COUNCIL REMOVE THE GUNS?
The fate of the captured guns in Victoria Square will probably be considered at a caucus meeting of Labour members of the City Council to be held to-night. Opinions are understood to be sharply regarding what action should be taken, and a statement made by Councillor Clyde Carr to the effect that the guns will be shifted as soon as possible, does not represent the view of several other Labour councillors. When the matter was mentioned to the Mayor, the Rev J. K. Archer, this morning, he declined to make any comment on the position, but intimated that it was quite probable that the question would be considered at tonight’s caucus meeting. With regard to Councillor Carr’s statement, the Mayor said that it merely represented a personal opinion. lllllllllllHllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllHllllHllllllllllllllllllllHnil
