CHARITY CUP GAME. NOMADS V. VILLA. •

Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.. Deputy Mayor, kicked off for Nomads. Villa started attacking- hotly, and took the ball well down, M’Dougall and Scragg clearing well from a. hard position right in the goal mouth. After a hard struggle, M’Leod sent down a long shot, which Wilson collected, but Wilson s shot was wild, and flew well above the empty goal. The game was very fast, but wild and, so far. even. In a determined rush by Villa, Graham was hurt and went off. Villa appeared to be having the best of the game, although they, did not look verv dangerous. Graham came on the field again to loud applause, with his head bandaged. A free kick in front of the Villa goal put Nomads in a good position. Trotter sent in a wonderful kick, which was cleared* a hot return from the clearance by Bryan also being cleared a second later. Villa swept down, and a nearly certain goal was saved by M'Dougall bouncing through prettily. Villa. returned, and were hacking at Nomads’ goal when the whistle blew. Nomads 0, Villa 0. During the Interval and before the game the Scottish Society’s Pipe Band gave selections, which were much appreciated. On the resumption, Villa started to attack, and soon got into a good position, where a corner resulted. However, Nomads swept down, the rush ending in a beautiful goal from a difficult angle by Wilson. Bryan, soon after, put in a beautiful long shot, but it was cleared cleanly by Jackson. A free kick right in front of the Villa goal hit the crossbar, and the_game came back. Nomads were now 'well on the warpath, and gave Villa little peace. A corner gave Nomads another chance, and Scragg's pretty kick was collected by Wilson, who put in a beauty, making the score Nomads 2, Villa 0. Nomads again attacked, and nearly scored twice in quick succession. A free kick from' a long way out was smothered into the goal, Evns giving it. the final, push, the goal, Evans giving it the final push. Villa were now attacking for all they were worth, and the game became fast and spectacular. A strong Villa rush, with Evans and Morley in the .van, was cleared by Graham. Bryan, receiving from Ellis, took the ball through in a fine solo effort, but slipped as he shot, and Jackson cleared well.
