ARMY BOXING TOURNEY AT BARRACKS NEXT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
The military boxing season will commence on Friday and Satxxrday next at King Edward Barracks, when the Garrison Sports Association, which showed such marked activity last year in connection with amateur boxing, will again stage a tournament. Entries have been received ,by practically all last j-ear’s winners and a number of new competitors have signified their intention of taking part in the contests. The tournament which takes place next Friday and Saturday is the first of four 'which have been planned for this season. Another takes place in June, a third in July and a fourth in August. By the time the fourth series of bouts has been concluded, it is hoped to have discovered a strong team to take part in the interprovincial contest in which the best Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch amateurs will take part. The big interprovincial contest has been allotted to the Garrison Sports Association this year.
