SUGAR INDUSTRY IS EXAMINED.
LEAGUE WILL DECIDE UPON WORLD ACTION. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Mav 18. 12.20 p.m.) GENEVA, May 17. The sub-committee discussing sugar production decided that the matter was not sufficiently studied to permit of a searching investigation. A resolution was passed recognising the importance of the problem owing to the difficulty wherein the industr}' found itself, and calling on the League Council to instruct its economic organisation to examine- all factors relating to international production and consumption of sugar. Their report would be submitted to the Council, which would decide whether concerted international action were desirable.—Australian Press Association— United Service.
