“SUSPICIOUS CASE,” SAYS ASSIGNEE.
(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, May 18. Harold Arthur Chambers, aged .twenty, radio dealer at Newmarket, met his creditors to-day, and was subjected to a searching examination by the Official Assignee, who said that the whole of the circumstances were "certainly suspicious," and he was not satisfied that bankrupt’s father was not a partner. Bankrupt referred in a statement to a burglary at his shop. The Assignee remarked that the circumstances surrounding it were also suspicious, as it happened at a most opportune time for bankrupt. The deficiency was £228. No motion was passed by the three creditors present. The Assignee, stated that he would have the father in for examination.
