Chicago wheat quotations are:—May, 1461 cents a bushel; July, 147# cents; September, 148 cents. SHBBFBXZNS SALE. Pynja, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., 'have received the following cablegram from London, dated May 17:—“The sheepskins sale opened to a good attendance of Home, Continental and American buyers. There was keen competition. Prices were unchanged but firm as compared with last series.” FITBOLBVV. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 18. Interest in petroleum operations has been revived by the news of the activity of the Blenheim bore, at Mutoroo. For some time operations have been directed towards plugging the bore at about 2000 feett fsi order to test the
strata at that depth. Lately, oil has been flowing Intermittently, yielding about four barrels daily. Since last night, the flow has become much stronger and is estimated at twelve barrels dally.
