SCANDAL OVER SHARKEYDELANEY FIGHT.

NEW YORK, May 2. There are grave rumours that the Sharkey-Delaney fight, this week, was “fixed.” Sharkey knocked out Delaney within a minute of the start. Mr Farley, of the New York Boxing Commission, is investigating. Rumours that the fight was “fixed” beforehand had been prevalent fo~ several weeks. It was notorious that Delanev was poorly trained. Even then nobody can understand why Delaney, supposed to be one of the cleverest boxers in the game, who had stood up against Risko and Heeney. could be dropped with the first right-hander from Sharkey. Neither can anyone understand why Sharkey was made a five to one favourite, and how it came that wise bettors wer# able to wager in advance that the fight would end with a knockout in the first round. “In” the Wicket.
