EMBARGO PLAN TO STOP BUTTER IMPORTS DEFEATED IN CANADA.

The Conservative anti-dumping amendment to the Supply vote, which aimed at the control of the importation of natural products, was defeated in the House of Commons by 110 votes to 59 The amendment aimed at controlling the importation of dairy products, which, it was said, were injuring Canadian producers. New Zealand, which exports butter to Canada, would have been affected had the amendment been carried.
