TENNIS ASSOCIATION HAS £BOO DEFICIT.
(Special to the "Star.”) WELLINGTON. May 1. The state of its finances has caused the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association to take drastic action. A subcommittee reported that, at a rough estimate, the year’s working would show a loss of £BOO. On its recommendation, it was decided by the quarterly meeting to dispense with the paid secretary and to hire out courts at Miramar, The association proposes to seek the services of a good organiser as honorary secretary. The present secretarj' is to be given a court for coaching purposes. A large number of other proposals, including a rise in the annual subscriptions, will be presented to the annual meeting.
