She afterwards proceeds to Dunedin. A new' Norwegian motor-ship, the Farnlane, has been chartered to make her maiden voyage to Australia and New Zealand, with case oil from the Gulf of Mexico. She is a vessel of 6 210 tons gross, and was launched at Copenhagen on September 37, 1927. ller own*a are Fearnley and Eger, of Oslo. lonic at present loading here for London, is expected to leave Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington, where she will complete. Waipiata is expected to sail this evening from Lyttelton for Wellington and Auckland. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company steamer Kia Ora was delayed by rain at Oamaru on Friday. She was to leave yesterday for Timaru, Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. The vessel Is due at Wellington on May S, and will now sail from that port on May 10 for London, via Cape Horn. Somerset is expected to sail from Lyttelton to-day tor Timaru, where she will continue her loading for London. It is announced that arrangements have been made for a Weir Line steamer to load sulphur at Galveston, Texas, towards the end of June,, or the beginning of July, for three New Zealand ports. Holmdale is due to-morrow from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru, to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Cabled news have been received that the new Government, motor-ship Maui Pomarc cleared Balboa on April 20, after being delayed there for some days for repairs to her engines. She is bound for Wellington, via Apia and is due early this month. Cabled news have been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that their liner Rotorua arrived at Panama on April 23 from Wellington, and left Colon on April 24 for Southampton and London. The vessel sailed from Wellington on April 4. John, from Wanganui, is due on Thursday to load cargo for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato. Ruahine, after loading av London, left Southampton on Thursday last for Wellington. Lyttelton. Port Chalmers and Auckland. The vessel is due at Wellington on June 1. Baron Fairlie sailed from Antwerp on March 3.7 with a cargo of basic slag for Auckland and New Plymouth. The vessel, is due at Auckland on May 19. Echo was to leave Wellington at noon yesterday with fruit and general from Blenheim. She loads and sails to-mor-row for Blenheim. Kennedy was delayed 3'esterday by the weather, and was expected to sail this morning for Foxton. Port Auckland, from London, via Wellington, is due on Friday to discharge. Calm is expected to-morrow from Timaru to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Corinna is due here to-morrow from southern ports to load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. Kahika will load here to-morrow for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. Kairanga due here from Timaru on •Sunday, will load for Auckland. Kartigi from Portland, via Wellington, is expected on May 6 with cement. Tees should have sailed last evening for the Chathams. but is now scheduled for dispatch to-day. Turakina will now load for London only. She is timed to commence loading at Oamaru on May 17, and will then go to Timaru, Lyttelton. Pirton and -Wellington to complete. The vessel is due at Wellington on June 3 to fill up, and will sail finally from that port on June 5 for London, via Panama. Hurunui is now fixed to load for West Coast ports of Great Britain, in addition to London. The Hurunui will commence loading at Port Chalmers about May 30, and will afterward load also at Bluff, Timaru, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on June 2, and will sail finally from there on June 5 for London. Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool via Panama. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Maimoa was due at Wellington on Saturday from Gladstone (Queensland). The vessel has cargo from Africa to unload at Wellington. She was to leave Wellington yesterday to load at Wanganui. Waikokopu, Gisborne, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Maimoa. is due back at Wellington on May 18 and will leave there on Mav 21 for London, via the Cape Horn route. She is due here on May 16. VOCO DUE TO-MORROW, Voco, the Vacuum Oil Company’s new tanker, is expected here from Wellington to-morrow with bulk benzine for discharge. The vessel is on her - maiden voyage to Australia. On arrival at Auckland she had 3.800,000 gallons of motor spirits. The vessel was built by Llthgowa at Glasgow. She is similar in type to the Plume and Pulpit Point. All three vessels were specially constructed for the Australian and New Zealand trade. On her official trials, the Voco attained a*mean speed of 12 knots. She made the voyage from San Pedro to Auckland in 21 days, at an average of 11.3 knots. The crew numbers 42 all told, nine Europeans and S 3 Chinese.
