AUCKLAND NOTES.

(Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, April 30. Mr C. Dawson's horses, Newbury and Rawhetu, were shipped to Sydney by the Mar am a. They are to join G. Price's stable at Randwick, and they went in charge of the hurdle horseman, E. Stanwav, who is on his way to Melbourne. King Arch and Moehau, who have been sold to West Australian buyers, were shipped to Sydney by the Marama. The Auckland Stud Company’s imported stallion Catmint was destroyed on Friday, an attack of paralysis rendering this course necessary. Catmint was acquired in England ten years ago. His descendants have won £20,000 in the Dominion. Among his best winners are Delightment, Phaola, Bennanee, Prodice and Lomint. Mr H. R. Mackenzie, one of the directors of the Auckland Stud Company, is on his way to England at present, and he will probably purchase a horse to take Catmint's place.
