COMPSTON DEFEATS HAGEN AT GOLF.

TREMENDOUS DRIVING ACHIEVES VICTORY

(United Press Assn.—By Electric * Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, April 28. A thirty-six-hole match between Compston and Hagen was , won by Compston. The winner’s driving was tremendous. COMPSTON PLAYS SUPERLATIVE GOLF.

LONDON, April 29. Compston, in brilliant sunshine, achieved a record victory, 18 up and 17 to go. The morning round settled the issue, Compston adding four holes to his overnight lead, thus ending the round dormy eighteen. A half at the first hole in the afternoon ended the contest, which Abe Mitchell described as the greatest event in British golf history. Compston to-day continued play superlative golf.
