MAY STAND FOR CITY SOUTH SEAT.

CR. LYONS WILL NOT . MAKE STATEMENT YET.

There is said to be a possibility that the Christchurch South Parliamentary seat will be contested bv Cr M. E. Lvons, who ran Mr .1. M’Combs, M.P. very close for the Lyttelton scat at the last election, and was defeated on a recount of votes.

Interviewed to-day, Cr Lyons stated that he had been approached on several occasions to contest Christchurch South, but at present he did not wish to make any statement as to his intentions.

Regarding the possibility of his contesting the Lyttelton seat again, Mr Lyons said that he had not yet communicated his intentions to the Lyttelton people, and until after he had done so he did not wish to make his decision public. Mr E. J. Howard. M.P., won the Christchurch South seat at the last election, defeating Mr 11. G. Ell by 5947 votes to 4378. Both these men have announced that they will again seek election.
