Miss Gibson, commenting on the report, congratulated the* association upon their secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. E. Crawshaw. The election of officers for the coming year was proceeded with. Miss Gibson consented to act as president and Mrs Crawshaw as secretary and treasurer, with Miss Partridge as assistant secretary, the three vice-presidents being Mrs S. C. Owen, Mrs G. Miss Ida Kensington and Miss Kathleen ITarrop. At Miss Gibson's suggestion last year’s dance committee was re-appointed, on the understanding that if any member was unable to accept office she would get another member of the association to take her place. During the ballot, Mrs S. C. Owen asked when the jubilee magazine would be published. Miss' Gibson explained the causes of the delay and said it would be all for the best, as she had been able to obtain some more interesting information, which would now appear. Probably the publication might be within six weeks. Miss Gibson asked all present to congratulate Miss Gresson upon her a y pointment as lady principal of the sister school at Avonside. Miss Gresson thanked the member* for their kind wishes for the success of the Avonside School, but said she would never forget that the Girls’ High School was her first love. A warm welcome was accorded Miss Clark, who has been appointed to sue ceed Miss Gibson as lady principal of the Girls’ High School. Miss Gibson said she was pleased to think that the school would be carried on by a member of her staff and one who knew the spirit of the school-. She then proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring committee who, especially during the jubilee celebrations, had done such excellent work. She also wished to thank Mrs S. C. Owen for conducting a reading circle in connection with the association and for kind hospitality to the members. Mrs S. C. Owen said they wished to mark the occasion by presenting their beloved president, Miss Gibson, with some small tokens of their love and gratitude. Throughout the past twentyeight years, Miss Gibson had been the mainstay and inspiration of the association, and they appreciated her help. Her wisdom! patience and enthusiasm had all helped to make the jubilee such a success. They knew that Miss Gibson would always be a busy woman; also that she would need rest; so they asked her to accept a writing table and chair, a standard lamp, an electric toaster, a rug and an armchair. Miss Gibson accepted the gifts and said she would enjoy them all. “ For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow ” was sung and three cheers were given, after which supper was handed round.
