TEAMS SELECTED FOR ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. (Special to the “Star”) AUCKLAND, March 22 The basketball team to represent Auckland at the Easter University tournament in Wellington is: Misses M. Adams, J. Macintosh, Y. Orbell, E. Wann, O. Miller, J. Mueller, N. Gailaher, M. Stehr, and R. Leonard. The boxing team is: Heavy-weight, G. W. Frear; middle-weight, B. Moorhouse; welter-weight, N. Jenkin; lightweight, A. Mayhill; feather and lightweights, V. C. Rickard. The annual inter-faculty athletic championships of Auckland University College were decided yesterday. Two college records were broken by T. E. Henry, who succeeded in equalling the New Zealand University championship times in the 440 yards flat and 440 yards hurdles. His time for the former was 51 2-ssec, equalling the record of Moj-es, of Canterbury College, and Tracy, of Victoria College, and beating the Auckland record by 2sec. The hurdles record he lowered by 3sec, equalling the time of 58 2-ssec established by Morgan, of Otago. At the conclusion of the meeting the athletic team to represent Auckland at the Easter tournament Avas selected as follows: 100 yards, Couper. Minns: 220 yards, Minns, Couper; 440 yards, M'Leod, Watt; 880 yards. Watt, Gilchrist; one mile, Witten, Gilchrist: three miles, Izard; putting the shot, Butler, Jenkin; throwing the hammer, Butler; high jump, Thompson; long jump, Jetley and Couper; 120 yards hurdles, N. H. Patterson; 440 yards hurdles, N. H. Patterson. It is not known whether A. M. Matheson, the representative cricketer and footballer, is available to join the team. He is at present in Dunedin.
