WEDDINGS.

BLUNT—ACTON-ADAMS. St Barnabas Church, Fendalton, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding yesterday afternoon, when Miss Frances Acton-Adams was married to Mr Leslie Blunt, of “ Steepdown,” Kaikoura. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs Acton-Adams and the late .Mr P. M. Acton-Adams, Clarence Reserve. Kaikoura, and the bridegroom the third son of Professor T. G. JR. Blunt and Mrs Blunt, 'Merivale. The church was artistically decorated for the occasion, and the Rev FI. S. Leach was the officiating clergyman. Mr A. Merton presided at the organ.The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr M. Acton-Adams, who subvsequently gave her away, looked most attractive in her bridal gown of ivory satin and silk net. The bodice of satin was cut on very simple lines, and the skirt was formed of frilled net. A handsome veil of exquisite Brussels lace, which has belonged to the family for {•. number of years, was arranged with a cluster of orange blossom at each side, and hung long over her frock, forming a train. She carried a bouquet of hot house flowers. The attendant bridesmaids were the two small sisters of the bride, Joan and Helen Acton-Adams, and they were dressed alike in frilled frocks of blue and silver embroidered in silver, with hats of blue to tone underlined with pink. They carried blue and pink flower bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Air R. Thomson as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s uncle, Mr Neave, Fendalton. where, owing to a recent bereavement in the family, only near relatives were present. Mrs Acton-Adams received her guests wearing an attractive black frock and a smart black hat. When the bride left for her wedding four she was wearing a model frock of blue oharmelaine with trimmings of white fur and a blue hat with a white flower mount at one side. LITTLE—BURNSIDE. The wedding took place recently at St Andrew’s Church, Wellington, of Violet Gwendoline, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Burnside, Wellington, late of Christchurch, to William John, second son of Mr E. A. Little, Wellington. The bride entered the church on the arm of Mr Alec Muir, who subsequently gave her away. She looked very charming in a smart tailored costume of lychen, the skirt being formed of box pleats, and hat of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of tea roses and maidenhair fern. The matron of honour was Mrs P. Fraser, recently from Sydney, who wore a dainty frock of silver grey, relieved with red, and red hat to tone, carrying a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr P. Shepherd as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s brother, Mr L. Burnside, Newtown. The bride's mother received her guests wearing a frock of black French crepe de chine, relieved with silk fringe, and a hat to tone. She carried a posy of shaded roses. The happy couple left later for the north, the bride wearing a frock of navy silk, relieved with fawn, and a shaded silk ottoman coat and fawn hat. The guests were entertained at a dance held in tV; evening.
