RIVALS MEET IN ANNUAL MATCH.

SCORE MOUNTS SLOWLY IN CHRIST’S COLLEGE —HIGH SCHOOL GAME. Dull cricket, and dull weather characterised the Boys’ High School versus Christ's College annual tricket match, which began this morning at the High School ground at Straven Road. G. IT. Stringer and T. E. M. Harper opened for School, to the bowling of R. J. Bean and IT. L. Parson. With only ten to his credit, Harper was dismissed lbw to Bean, but Stringer dug in early, and it was not till he had batted for over an hour for a total of 34 runs, that he was dismissed lbw to Parson. G. B. Grose went rather weakly for a duck, but the following batsmen, G. D. Dryden and A. C. Harris, made a stand for a while, and, batting slowly, added 37 runs between them. Drj'den, who showed more enterprise than the rest, put up 21 before he was caught by Lumsden off Parson. From then on. School failed rather badly, and at. the luncheon adjournment had raised only 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Throughout the morning only two fours were hit. Scores: — BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL. G.
