NOT PERMITTED TO STAY IN AUSTRALIA.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright SYDNEY, March 6. The German who was refused permission to land on January 31 is named Karl Kraft. He was again a passenger by the Maunganui, which arrived here to-day. After failing in the dictation test he was declared to be a prohibited immigrant and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, pending deportation to Germany.—Aust. and N.Z. Press Assn. Kraft arrived in Sydney on January 31 by the Ulimaroa. The Customs Department refused to allow him to land, alleging that he was deported from New Zealand, where he had received a term of seven years’ imprisonment for arson.
