CONFERENCE TO HOLD DAY OF PRAYER ON WEDNESDAY.
In connection with the sessions of the Methodist Conference, it has been decided to hold a day of prayer on Wednesday. The church throughout the district is requested by the president of the conference to remember the special function of the conference sessions.
The following programme has been arranged. At 9 a.m. a Communion service will be held, to be followed by sessions of prayer dealing with the relation of the church to the ministry and Christian workers, the people, the young, regions beyond and righteous causes. This programme will take up the time of the morning session. At 2 p.m. the report on the waif are of the church will be presented, to be followed by an address from the retiring vice-president, Mr J. A. Flesher. At 4 p.m. the “ Gloria ” will be recited and the “Te Deum ” sung. At 7 p.m., in the Durham Street Church, the ordination service will be held, when twelve young ministers who have completed their probationary period will be ordained to the full work of the ministry. The ex-president, the Rev Dr H. Ranston, will deliver the ordination charge. The sessions will be open to the general public.
