GIFTS OF FOOD FOR CITY UNEMPLOYED.
DONATIONS RECEIVED AT LABOUR BUREAU. Several further donations of food for the unemployed were left at the Government Labour Bureau this morning. A lady who declined to give her name called at the bureau for the second time and left a quantity' of foodstuffs. • The gifts received comprised a sack of cabbages, two flour hags filled with sausages, a sugar bag of potatoes, a number of loaves of bread, and 181 b of jam. Ramsay’s Motors, Ltd., also forwarded some money with which to purchase bread. Six man-ied men registered at the bureau this morning. Four were selected for City Council work, starting on 1 Monday, and five others for work under the Forestry Department at Hanmex.
