The new programme to be screened at the Strand Theatre this afternoon and evening will be headed by a picttire entitled “The Unholy Three,” in which the famous actor. Lon Chaney, plays the leading role. The story concerns three men of a circus, a ventriloquist, a giant and a dwarf, who band together and decided to follow a. life of crime. The story is mainly concerned with their doings, but there is also an interestnig love theme. The plot is well constructed and the various incidents lead up to a thrilling climax. “ Fools in the Dark ” is the title of the second attraction. In this film Matt Moore and Patsy Ruth Miller are entrusted with the leading parts. The story concerns a young man of meek appearance who writes blood-curdling scenarios for the screen. The hero is in love with the niece of a scientist, who, after listening to the latest thriller of the hero, decides the test his courage, and find out what stuff he is really made of. Having made a deep study of oriental mysteries, the scientist is able to produce real “thrillers,” and the young man is put through a series of nerve racking experiences which prove that after all he is a hero. The supporting programme will include a cornedv, a news film and a topical gazette.
