GIFT AFTERNOON
Miss Betty Overton, whose marriage will take place early next week, was the guest.ol honour at a gift afternoon given by the Misses Fay and Nancy Gibson at their home in Helmore’s Road, Fendalton, yesterday. Many interesting games of tennis were played and ices were served on the lawn under the shade of the trees. Later in the afternoon a delicious tea was served in the house, the decorations being carried out with pink flowers and greenery. As a. memento of the occasion each guest presented Miss Overton with a coat-hanger or shoe trees and their good wishes for her future happiness. Kliss Gibson’s guests included:—Miss Betty Overton. Mrs Guy Cotterill, Mrs Peter Hall. Mrs Rossmore Cracroft Wilson, Kirs P. Baines, Kirs Toby Gibson. Misses Janet Overton, Margaret Stevenson, Adrienne Acland, Betty Black. Ruth Wynn Williams, Peggy Norton, Molly Black, Barbara Gibson, Elizabeth Harris, Alice Pascoe, Eleanor West-Watson, Mary Cowlishaw, Meta Nixon, Phyllis Norton Francis, Carol West-Watson, Isobel Turrell and Kathleen Bristed.
