ANGLO-IRAQ TREATY SIGNED IN LONDON.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, December 15. The revised Anglo-Iraq Treaty was signed at the Colonial Office by the Hon W. G. Ormsby-Gore, Under-Secre-tarv for the Colonies, on behalf of the Government, and Prime Minister oi Iraq. The treaty is couched in general language, and provides certain conditions for the termination of the British mandate and Iraq’s entry to the League of Nations, sponsored by Britain, by 1932. The most important sections of the agreement, relating to future military and financial relations, have still to be worked out, in the shape of separate annexes, but it is regarded as almost certain that squadrons of the Royal Air Force will continue to be maintained in Iraq.
