In response to complaints regarding the dangers to road traffic at the Styx railway crossing, the Railway Department has removed the crossing bells which were rung when trains were approaching, and has installed two flashing light signals in their place. The signals are placed one on each side of the railway line and exhibit a red flashing light if a train is approaching and no light if all is clear.
