LONDON, October 10. The “ Evening Standard ” has issued special posters announcing that the New Zealand cartoonist, David Low, has joined its staff. Low has been with the “Star” for several .years, and Lord Beaverbrook paid a big figure, and agreed to remarkable conditions to secure his services. The “ Evening Standard ” prints tributes from Mr Ramsay Macdonald, Mr Winston Churchill, and Sir W. Joynson Hicks, men whom Low has repeat edly lampooned, and also from Mr J. H. Thomas, M.P., Mr J. L. Garvin, of the “ Observer,” and John Drinkwater, the poet and dramatist. Mr Phillip Snowden, M.P, says that Low is the greatest popular educator since the late Sir F. C. Gould, while Mr Arnold Bennet asserts he is the finest cartoonist in the Empire and one of the finest in the world.
