The Prince opened an imposing Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle. He unlocked the door, after which officers bearing the Colours entered carrying the Rolls of Honour containing the names of 100,000 fallen Scots. The deposited the rolls in a beautiful central cedar-lined steel casket on a granite base, set in the living rock protruding through the floor. The casket was the gift of their Ma* jesties.
