STREET COLLECTION.
Ideal weather favoured the ladies who were helping with the street collection to-day in aid of the unemployed. The public are always ready to help a worthy cause, and the small badges were quickly sold in exchange for a small sum, the total of which will be handed to the fund. The following ladies vert assisting and were at the following positions;— Mrs R. J. Munro (organiser) and Miss Holton, at central depot: Mrs Benzie, Mrs Bates and > Mrs Dunlop, at Barnett’s Corner; and Mesdames Holmes. Nash and sHodge, at the Post Office: New Brighton Seamen’s Guild (Mesdames Jarvis. Hooker, Smith and Bishop), at Bonnington’s Corner; Mrs Nicholls. at Beath’s Corner; Mrs Fleck, Chancery Lane: Mrs M’Dermott, Hereford Court; Mrs Watson and Mrs Tresize. Cook and Ross’s; Mrs Tucker, Tattersall’s; Mrs Bowler. Robb’s Corner; Mrs M’Clelland. Hereford Street; Miss Henderson. W C.T.U.. and helpers. Pallantvne’s Corner; Miss Ilanrahan. Miss Ford and Miss Hannah, Bank of New’ Zealand Corner; and Mrs Bishop, Christchurch Ambulance, and helpers, Tram Shelter.
