The Tramways Committee of the Auckland City Council is considering various proposals to increase the revenue owing to last year’s deficit on city transport. Although there was a profit on th® tramways, there was a heavy loss on the buses. The proposals include the concellation of all concessions except workers weeklies (estimated to produce £50,000), the running of short penny sections during the day and the working of buses as feeders only except at peak hours.
