CEMENT COMPANY BUYS MORE LIMESTONE AREA.
Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, June 22. A reliable authority states that the British Standard Portland Cement Company has' just completed the purchase of the whole, of the limestone interests at Urquhart’s Bay possessed by the estate of the late J. J. Craig. A report furnished to the company prior to the purchase described the quality of the stone as almost perfect for the manufacture of Portland cement. The British Standard Company already has large interests at Urquhart’s Bay, and with the recent purchase becomes the owner of practically the whole of the high grade deposit of limestone in that locality.
