MEXICAN FILM SHOWN AT QUEEN’S.
“ CONQUERING BLOOD ” HAS STRONG CAST. Over the picture “ Conquering Blood,'* which is featured at the Queen’s this week, hangs an air of old Mexico, All the unbridled passion of the Spanish temperament is portrayed in a breathless story with that king of Western heroes, Tom Mix, in the lead. Technieolour pictures of the old hacienda bring out the full beauty of the quaint Spanish architecture and plunge the audience into the full spirit of the colourful Mexican fiesta. The photography as a whole is a tribute to the producer. Tom Mix is at his best in the story, and Olive Borden, who plays opposite him, is most convincing in the role of the little Mexican girl. Margaret: Livingstone, who takes the part of Flora, a dancing girl, does a breathtaking Tango which is seen to advantage in the coloured hacienda scene. The second attraction is a story of the Solomon Islands, by Jack London, and the principal parts are played by Tom Moore, Pauline Starke and Wallace Beery.
