ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
CANADA V. CANTERBURY. Very complete arrangements have been made for the entertainment of the Canadian team during their stay here. On their arrival from the West Coast at 5.23 p.m. to-morrow, they will be conveyed by private car to their hotel (the Clarendon), where they will have dinner. After dinner they will go to the pictures. On Friday morning, after morning tea at Beath’s, there will he a. civic reception by the Mayor (Mr J. Iv. Archer) at noon. In the afternoon the party will leave at 2 o’clock for Kaiapoi. where they will inspect the woollen mills and have afternoon tea at Blackwell’s. There will he reserved seats at Fullers’ in the evening. Saturday morning will be free and at 2.15 P.m. the team will be conveyed to English Park for the match. From 6.30 till 8.30 there will be a dinner to both teams at the hotel, after which the party will go to the Savage Club or to dances by invitation. Sunday morning will be free and in the afternoon the visitors will be taken for a drive round the city and through New Brighton and Sumner. Afternoon tea will be taken at Sumner. On Monday at 8.15 a.m. they will be taken to the station in cars to catch the train for the south. The association has laid Itself out to give the team a good time and all who are connected with the arrangements have made great efforts to ensure a pleasant stay for the Canadians. A number of private cars wjll he available during their stay here, so there will be no difficulty about transport. A message was received from the X.Z.F.A. to-day that Messrs J. Stout and W. Campbell have been appointed as referee and linesman respectively for the Canterbury v. Canada match on Saturday.
