105 FAMILIES NOW RECEIVING ASSISTANCE.
CITIZENS’ RELIEF DEPOT KEPT BUSY. With one hundred and five families now receiving regular relief, the Citizens’ Unemployment Relief Depot is having a busy time. Gifts are flowing in from all quarters, but as quickly as they come they go out again, and the staff under the direction of Mrs A. E. Herbert is working at feverish pace throughout the day. The following donations are acknowledged:— £ s. d.
A bullock has been received from Mr Gardiner, Purau, and 501 b of beef from Mr H. A. Bennett, Eyreton. Gifts of blankets, clothes and food have been numerous.
