TAR CAUSES BLAZE IN SYDENHAM HOUSE.
Tar overflowing from a pot on a gas ring was the cause of a fire in a sevenroomed house at 73, Montreal Street, Sydenham, shortly after ten o'clock this morning. The washhouse and scullery were both considerably damaged by fire and smoke before the Fire Brigade quelled the outbreak. The hou e, which is owned and opeupitd by Mrs F. Cooper, was insured for £6OO. and the contents for i‘27o, in the State Office.
