SEMI-FINALIST IS CHOSEN IN SCREEN QUEST
OTHER GIRLS STILL IN THE RUNNING. .Miss O. Hal crow, 70, Winchester Street, Merivale, with a majority of 125 votes over Miss D. Rasmussen, has been elected a semi-finalist in the “Miss New Zealand 1927“ contest. Polling was heavy throughout the week, but an unexpected rush of votes set in yesterday morning and continued almost until the ballot box was cleared at 10 a.in. to-day. Interest in the contest was lively and the nine entrants all polled well. Thu placing was as follows : Miss O. Ilalcrow, 934 1 Miss Dulce Rasmussen, 809 .... 2 Miss E. Turner, 786 3 Miss Ilalcrow becomes one of the twenty semi-finalists, and now falls out of the poll, but all the other entrants remain in next week’s voting, which will close at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
