WORTH A CAP.
ONE of the most successful bowlers in the senior A competition of the Canterbury Cricket Association (bis year lias been C. S. Gibbs, and lie must be accounted unlucky in the fact that be was not given a try-out in the representative team. However, he is still young with years of cricket ahead of him, and. if he continues to bowl as well as he lias done this season, there is no doubt that he will gain his representative cap in a year or two. This season for Riccarton Gibbs has taken 49 wicket for 566 runs, so that he has the excellent average of 11.55. He did the “hat trick” once this season and he is undoubtedly one of the most promising young bowlers in Christchurch to-day. Though he has several good scores to his credit for previous seasons. Gibbs has not done much with the bat this year. The other Saturday, however, he came to light with a well plavcd 63 against St Albans.
