SORRY SHE HAD ONLY HER TOQUE.

QUEEN CHATS WITH CHILD IN HOSPITAL. DID NOT WEAR HER GOLDEN CROWN. By Telegraph. — Press Assn.—Copyright Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received February 23. 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, February 22. Nancy Greenhall was the heroine of the Kind’s and Queen’s visit to London

Hospital, where the Royal couple spent hours chatting to patients. When Nancy heard of the Queen’s arrival in the children’s ward she sat up in bed and clapped her hands in glee. She called a nurse and said: “ Can I see my Queen?” The nurse crossed r-the ward and told the Queen, who came immediately

to Nancy's bedside. “ But, nurse, she has not got a golden crown,” said the disappointed child. “ My dear,” said the Queen, “ I am so sorry I left the crown behind. I have only my toque. It is not golden, but has flowers.” The Queen then called to the King. “Do come here, George, this pretty little thing wonders why we are not wearing crowns.” VThen, turning to Nancy, whose eyes were gleaming, she said: “ This is the King, my dear.” As she went the Queen patted Nancy’s cheek and added: “You shall see your queen wearing a golden crown some day.” The King sought out and chatted to several nurses who attended him during his last illness.
