WARRANTED MILK IS QUESTIONED.
DEFENCE POINT TO BE CONSIDERED BY S.M. On the ground that he had »■written warranty from the man who sold miik to him, John William Newill, a milk vendor, pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court this morning to a charge of selling milk deficient in fat and containing added water. Mr Brown, who appeared for the Health Department, formally proved his case and then said that the matter turned on the defence which would be raised. , . Mr Hutchison, who appeared for defendant. said that Newill purchased the milk from a man who gave a written warranty that it fulfilled the necessary requirements. The water had got into the milk when it was standing in a leaking cooler. r The Magistrate (Mr Lawry) reserved his decision.
