After a delay of more than eighteen months the Canterbury Engineering Trades Union has been granted affiliation with the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council and its has been invited to appoint nine delegates who will be eligible to take part in the next meeting of the council. The union's application was held up for a very long period pending a revision of the rules of the council and the necessary formalities have only recently been completed.
