Miss Lilly Armerson, Lyttelton, is at. present spending a holiday with Mrs Payntcr, Station Road, Leeston. Mr and Mrs W. 11. Kiast arrived by car from the south yesterday, and will leave for lvaikoura. to-day. Mr and Mrs J. Shand, Wellington, and Miss Williams, Napier, are among the recent arrivals staying at W arner s Hotel. Mr and Mrs George Pilkington, Marshland, have been spending a holiday with their sons at “Ilomebrook,” Southbridge. Mr M’Guire, Thorndon, Wellington, who has been visiting relatives in Timaru and Irwell, returned to the north on Thursday. Miss A. M. Rowe (Ashburton) and Misses Effic and Barbara Pitcaithlv (Eltham) have returned to their homes after spending a few days with Mr and Mrs H. Schnell at “Meadow Vale,” Lakeside. Miss Kathleen Robinson, lleathcote, and Miss Ivy Odey, Lyttelton, are spending a holiday in Leeston, and are the guests of Mrs Murphy, Penlington Street. Mr and Mrs W. Shaw (Auckland), Mr and Mrs 11. Shaw (Sheffield), Mrs J. B. Greig and Miss Leila Greig (Timaru), arrived in Christchurch yesterday and are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs F. M. Dennehy (Greymouth), Miss Dennehy (Timaru). Mr and Mrs W. Wav and Miss Yarks (London), Misses E. and A. Harris (Western Australia). Mr and Mrs A. 11. Hasell and Miss D. ITasell (Melbourne), arc among the recent arrivals staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs W. Webster, Ponsonby. Auckland. who has been visiting relatives in. Dunedin and Lakeside, returned to Wellington on Thursday. Mrs J. L. Wilson, Merivalc, who has been on an extended visit at Ilanmer Springs, will return to Christchurch at the end of the week. Miss A. Partridge, who is spending a holiday in the North Island, will return to Christchurch at the end of the week. Mr and Mrs G. Raymond and Mr T£. B. Raymond (Heaton Street) have returned home after a fortnight’s motor tour through Marlborough, Nelson and Westland. Mrs George Reid (Rotherham) is spending the week-end in town as the guest of Miss Peggy Norton, Mansfield Avenue. Mrs J. T. Sinclair and Miss Jean Sinclair, Rhodes Street, MerivaJe, are guests of Mrs A. Beattie, Manor House, Hororata. Mrs Danvers Hamber, who has been spending a holiday in the North Island, will return to Christchurch to-morrow. Miss Mary Macdonald, who was with Mrs W. N. Bond (Claremont), returned to Christchurch on Friday. Mrs Ramsden, Fendalton, is visiting her daughter. Mrs George Kingston, Grey Road, Timaru. Mr and Mrs J. Wilson, Sumner, and Miss Newburgh are at the Hydro Grand, Timaru. On Friday, Mrs J. Davison (Hatfield), Rakaia, gave an evening at her residence. An enjoyable time was spent in music, dancing and cards. The music for the dancing was supplied by Misses A. Hooper, J. Macdonald, O. Smith, T. O’Reilly, M. Macdonald, and Mrs Donaldson. Mr C.
