LATE COMMERCIAL.
WOOL SALES. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated January 10, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. London:— Wool .sales opened yesterday (Tuesday) with large attendance. Continental section well represented and excellent eompetltion. Compared with closing rates for last series, finest merino 5 per cent dearer; others: merino, fine cross-bred, par to 5 per cent higher; coarse cross-bred and medium crossbred, firm and unchanged. Total available for series 131,000 bales of which 4 2.000 New Zealand, 81,000 Australian and 4000 South American. LONDON WOOL SALES. Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., have received a cablegram from London, under date January 19: “Wool sales opened large attendance and keen competition. Prices for merino were 5 per cent, and fine cross par to & per cent dearer. Other sorts unchanged. Good selection.** GRAIN AMD PRODUCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—-Copyright. Aus. and N.Z.
